Metals Galore

Gold, silver, bronze, brass, rose gold. These are metals that are often focal points for those with luxurious spaces. From golden legs for plant stands and furniture to rose gold furnishings on drawers, metals bring some serious class to any space. These do, however, tend to be on the pricier side. Fear not, because there are very easy solutions to this dilemma — a nice coat of paint.

Buy a can of spray paint and go to town with a simple DIY project. Upgrade a side table and transform matte, black metal legs to a matte gold with a few coats of spray paint. This hack is much easier and more budget-friendly than going and buying brand-new furniture or changing out legs on furniture.

Contact Paper AKA Your New Best Friend

Living in a rental can actually be quite drab, especially when you have a strict landlord when it comes to making some much-needed customization steps to your apartment. If you can’t paint walls or remodel floors, cabinets or counters, you still have options. Contact paper can be used on anything from walls to tabletops you want to spruce up. Need some inspiration? We have you covered:

  • Change up your shelves. Instead of relying just on the things you fill your shelves up for decor, why not make shelves part of the decoration? Line the back of your shelves with contact paper for a pop of color.
  • Ugly countertops? Granite or marble contact paper can mimic the real thing. Simply press on some granite or marble contact paper onto your countertops in your kitchen or bathroom. You can go to town with cooking videos in your “remodeled” kitchen.
  • Cover up your favorite flea market find that needs a little something extra. Love the shape of the side table you scored at last weekend’s flea market but hate the color of the tabletop? Use some contact paper to give it the design your space needs.

Add Art

What’s a luxury living space without its own touches of art? This doesn’t mean you have to spend a month’s worth of rent on you at your local art gallery. Art adds individuality to a space, and choosing the right places to implement it into your space can make for a simple upgrade. Have a local artist you’ve been following on social media for a while? Check to see if they have a site or store you can shop from to support them directly. A few prints can be utilized in plenty of ways.

  • Frame them and put them around your living space. Ditch the plain black frames an opt for something more eye-catching. A gold frame or a carved wooden one can help draw the eye to a piece of art — you can also DIY a frame to fit the decor to your living space.
  • Gallery wall. Place with print sizes, frames, and colors to make a gallery wall to your apartment. In a space where decor or eye-catching furniture lacks can easily be dressed up with a great gallery wall.

Not keen on spending money on art? Unleash your inner artist and create your own art to adorn your living space. This way, you can play with shapes and colors you know you want in your space and to feature in your decor.

Introduce Textures

Adding textures when decorating your apartment can make it look (and feel) much more luxurious. Utilize the pillows and blankets you keep in your living room on your couches and chairs. Pillows with tassels and other textual elements or knit blankets versus fleece blankets are just some of the many texture decor choices you can make that can still stay functional.

As you can see, transforming your living space into a luxurious and fabulous space doesn’t have to take months nor break your budget. With just a few simple upgrades, and rented furniture from CORT Furniture Rental, you will be more proud of your living space than before.
